Malaysian Energy Professionals Association (MEPA) and Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (MGTC) have been reached an agreement to jointly organize the AEMAS Energy Manager Training Course (EMTC) on 1 st July 2011. This training program objective is to introduce participants the whole concept of a Sustainable Energy Management (SEM). SEM covers all aspects of energy consumption in the organization and involves not only technological improvement that consumes energy but also look for the best contribution from end users.
New Efficient Management of Electrical Energy Regulation 2008 which has been introduced by Energy Commission required any installation which generated or consumes more than 3,000,000 kWh in 6 consecutive months to appoint registered energy manager The training syllabus followed Energy Commission guideline and also adopted syllabus developed by ASEAN Energy Management Scheme (AEMAS) a project carried out by ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and party funded by European-ASEAN Energy Facility (EAEF).
As of today, 1,184 participants undertaking this training and 1044 of them have been certified as AEMAS Certified Energy Manager. 54 training sessions have been successfully conducted. The participants come from different background such as academia, industry, facilities manager, consultant etc.
